Helen Frankenthaler, What Red Lines Can Do (Harrison 23), 1970

Helen Frankenthaler's "What Red Lines Can Do" (Harrison 23), 1970, is a limited edition, signed and numbered screenprint on Arches handmade paper. A quintessential example of Abstract Expressionism translated to printmaking, this work features dynamic red lines that create striking visual tension against the composition's negative space.

Frankenthaler worked with Maurel Studios in New York to translate her pioneering "soak-stain" painting technique into the printmaking medium. Part of a portfolio of five screenprints, the print was published by Multiples, Inc. and produced in a limited edition of 75 + 24 AP.

Condition: In good condition.  Handling creases and half moons from a prior framing. Some discoloration lower left.  

All works are accompanied by a gallery-issued Certificate of Authenticity and undergo a multi-step authentication review prior to placement.
